Who we are

This website is operated by Ethicode Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16052473, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. Ethicode Ltd is the controller of the personal data described in this notice.

What we collect, and why

This is a simple informational website. We do not run advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking of any kind, we do not use cookies, and we do not sell or share personal data for marketing. We do measure aggregate visitor numbers using a privacy-preserving analytics tool, described below. The processing that takes place:

• Hosting logs. The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. When you visit, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the time and pages of your visit, in server logs used to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / UK GDPR). Log data is retained for a short period (typically up to 30 days) and then deleted.
• Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (provided by Cloudflare, Inc.) to understand aggregate traffic, such as how many people visit and which pages they view. It is cookieless and does not use any client-side state, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking, and it does not build profiles of individual visitors. Your IP address is processed transiently to derive these aggregate counts and is not retained or used to identify you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f)). You can find Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
• Fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests the font files from Google servers, which transmits your IP address to Google LLC. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the consistent display of the site (Art. 6(1)(f)). You can find Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Correspondence. If you email us, we process your name, email address, and the content of your message in order to respond. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) where the correspondence relates to a possible engagement, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f). We keep correspondence for as long as needed for the purpose, and for as long as legal retention duties require.

Recipients and international transfers

We use Netlify, Inc. (United States) as our hosting provider, Google LLC (United States) for font delivery, and Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) for analytics. Transfers of personal data to the United States rest on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, on standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, and to have it rectified or erased; the right to restrict or object to its processing; and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, write to marco@ethicode.co.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the European Union, the data protection authority of your member state.

Changes to this notice

If the site gains features that change how personal data is handled, this notice will be updated and the date above revised.
